Early Childhood Development Center

Project Vida's Early Childhood Development program is a licensed childcare center for children ages newborn to 5 years old.

  • Texas School Ready! - A comprehensive preschool teacher training program combining a research-based, State-adopted curriculum with ongoing professional development and age-appropriate child progress monitoring tools.
  • Texas Rising Star - A Four-Star (highest) certification designated by Texas Workforce Solution Upper Rio Grande Child Care Services.
  • "Creative Curriculum for Infants, Toddlers and Two's" - For children ages 0-3, fully aligned with the Texas Early Learning Council's guidelines. "Creative Curriculum" focuses on basic math skills such as identifying, sorting, and matching; and on science, library, creative art, manipulatives, music, drama center, and outdoor play. 
  • "Frog Street Pre-K" - Curriculum for children ages 3-5 emphasizing early childhood literacy and school readiness including letter and number recognition, phonics, and math and science concepts. 

Each age group in the Early Childhood Development Center has a dedicated room for instruction and childcare: 

  • Infants and toddlers 
  • 2-3 year olds
  • 3-4 year olds
  • 4-5 year olds

Cost for the Early Childhood Development Center program is based on a sliding scale fee according to family income. 

For parents enrolled in Borderplex Workforce Solutions, Child Care Services (CCS)
determines eligibility for subsidized childcare based on family income. Limited scholarships are available while parents comply with CCS eligibility. 

Project Vida's comprehensive Early Childhood Development program also offers Parenting Education. In cooperation with United Way of El Paso County and Americorps, Early Childhood Development offers one-on-one in-home visits by Americorps members using the "Parents as Teachers" curriculum. The Early Childhood Development Center offers the "Nurturing Parent/Crianza con Cariño" program in group sessions. There is no charge for any part of the Parenting Education Program.
