support group

Well-being support group sessions create a safe environment for participants to learn how to take control of and improve their overall health and wellness. Group discussions encourage participants to share with each other as they learn to take greater responsibility for balancing body, mind and spirit. The support Group offers opportunities to participate in mindful activities which create a deeper awareness of body, mind and spirit; sharing these experiences with he group; and consciously engaging in lifestyle choices leading to greater health, wellness and well-being. 

                                       FIRST STAGE 10 WEEKS
1. Screenings (30 minutes) - Blood sugar, blood pressure, weight (BMI) and waist.
2. Education Well-Being Topics (1 hour)
    Week 1: Introduction and The Six Dimensions of Wellness Model
    Week 2: What is Trauma (Emotional Dimension)
    Week 3: Spiritual and Social Dimension
    Week 4: Occupational and Intellectual Dimension
    Week 5: Understanding The Human Body (Physical Dimension)
    Week 6: Chronic Disease Risk Factors and Stress vs. Depression (Physical and           Emotional Dimension)
    Week 7: Nutrition (Physical Dimension)
    Week 8: Nutrition (Physical Dimension)
    Week 9: Physical Activity (Physical Dimension)
    Week 10: Integrating The Six Dimensions of Wellness Model and The Well-Being         Challenge. 
3. Physical Activity (30 minutes)   

                                        SECOND STAGE 6 WEEKS

1. Screenings (30 minutes) - Blood sugar, blood pressure, weight (BMI) and waist.
2. Free Topics (1 hour)
