BEST BUY TEEN TECH CENTER
Project Vida’s Best Buy Teen Tech Center (BBTTC) is a member of The Clubhouse Network (www.theclubhousenetwork.org) in collaboration with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Media Lab. BBTTCs nation-wide are technology-based programs aimed at empowering youth from all backgrounds to become more capable, creative, and confident learners.
Teens participating in Project Vida’s BBTTC explore and create through various outlets of technology and equipment in different elements of art, including but not limited to:
Drawing and Illustration (traditional and digital)
Design (graphic and fashion)
Music (vocal, instrumental, recording, arranging, producing)
Film and Video (recording, editing, personal, commercial)
Robotics
Engineering
Coding
3D Printing
These avenues of creativity offer BBTTC participants open-ended exploration and spark curiosity that have benefit in the present and create opportunities for the future. Through close mentorship and strategies for success, participants celebrate diversity; technological creativity; collaboration of young minds within their community; and skills for school, work, and life.
Summer programming includes 5 to 10 BBTTC participants placed in internships at El Paso’s Best Buy locations. Another 5 BBTTC participants are placed as interns at the BBTTC itself through Workforce Solutions Borderplex.
