Project Vida Douglass Center Child Care offers a childcare program in a safe environment with licensed, adult supervision during out-of-school-time hours and school breaks.

  • Cost according to Workforce Solutions Borderplex Child Care Services (CCS) guidelines

After-school snacks are provided to enrolled children at no additional cost under the Texas Department of Agriculture. Lunch is provided during school breaks and holidays. Food is prepared by kitchen staff, all of whom hold State of Texas Food Handlers certification. 

The Douglass Center has limited short-term scholarships for qualifying families when funding is available. These scholarships are meant as a bridge while a parent is on the CCS waiting list of Workforce Solutions Borderplex or other similar services. Families receiving scholarships are expected to be working or studying at least 25 hours during the week and to participate in the “Nurturing Parent/Crianza con Carino” parenting education classes. Classes are offered in person, by Google Meet, by email, or through information provided by Project Vida’s Early Childhood Development Center. However, attending in person or by Google Meet is highly recommended.
